Dawson and Perkins are battlers, exactly what we needed from Jan 2013 onwards and the lads did us proud.

We are now at a start of a new season........

Personally I believe we would be a better team playing Digby and Etuhu in central positions, allowing Mellis to then play a free/mid role.

Don`t think Digby is ready to play regularly yet

Until we get a 2nd striker that can score goals we would be better with 1 up front.

I think our best 11 could look something like a 4-2-3-1

    Steele
    Wiseman Cranie Mvoto Golbourne
    Etuhu Perkins
    O Brien Mellis Jennings
    O Grady

Although a couple of new signings would be handy as it still looks short of goals

I think you'd be silly to leave Perkins out.

I'd call Etuhu a battler anyway, he puts in more slide tackles than anyone else.

No chance! Don't think digby can replace perkins yet. Digby needs to be eased into it. I don't think he's ready to play week in week out. I think with kelvin back it could help mellis alot

Perkins, Etuhu & Mellis would be the starting 3 for me but we have options for a change now.

I'd say the original post is correct we need to start progressing from a fairly negative midfield that tries really hard to becoming a more offensive athletic one. The caveat being that the transition from Perkins to Digby shouldn't be rushed but should evolve between now and the end of the season.
