That will most likely happen now his notoriety has peaked. The same happened to David Ellery, Graeme Poll and Mark Clattenburg.

I like what you say but I would buy Willard one of those Wednesday 10 year season tickets

Wouldn't subject anyone to a 10 year Wednesday ticket

I may be in a very small minority but I agreed with Dean. I saw it a a sending off offence. He did not need to raise his elbow at all in that situation.

Again, I know a lot of pundits disagree with me but I do not think that players need to raise their are so much when leaping to head the ball. On many occasions this results in an elbow in the face. Is this any difference to a mis-timed tackle resulting in a sending off?

Arms and elbows are not part of the game.

Clearly they are as someone was given offside because he was pointing where he wanted the ball and his arm was offside.

That is a very good point.

However, Weren't Watford given a penalty when Calum Britain was pointing with his arm.

Death threats are bang out of order. 100% unacceptable and anyone making them should be locked up.

However is it just me who is cynical enough to think this is possibly a cover for dropping him due to him being inept without having to admit they're dropping him due to him being inept?

Was about to post the same, then saw u already had! Instead of the faux outrage from the authorities at what is no doubt a 15yr old keyboard warrior, why doesn't someone ask Dean this exact question. I'm puzzled.

Refs have been dropped or demoted before without making up excuses why should tis be different - wouldn't surprise me if he hadn't received death threats. Lots of 'brave' people behind a keyboard

I've never known a referee of his stature be dropped or demoted though, only the lesser refs. That said I hadn't really read anything about it when I commented and now I have it seems completely believable that he's had threats. And not just to him but to his family too. Bang out of order

I might be completely wide of the mark here, but there might be the ridiculous assumption that he could be at risk where there's fewer witnesses i.e. travelling to or from the ground.

From what I've read it isn't him who's had the threats. It's his family
