Agree with you 100%. The lad will need conditioning just to be able to take on the training load of the first team squad. It takes time to get up to that level it's not something you can do in a couple of weeks.
Exactly, probably earning more a week now than he used to do in a month with two jobs, and not a lot to do due to this clearance issue so who knows what sort of state of mind he'll be in when he is eventually called upon. Agreeing the deal with Telford and letting him continue playing competitive football would surely have been the best option.
I thought the same until I heard on radio sheffield last week that Sheffield United have recently signed a lad from a non league club and he made his debut for them last weekend. His name or where he came from escapes me though.
