    Near Thurgoland - used to be called Eastfield Arms but was always known as "The Monkey".

    Anyone know the true story? I heard it was called the monkey because it was off the beaten track and people used to go there for "monkey business".

    Bah't time I popped in then :D

    I heard it was called the Monkey because the Landlord kept a monkey behind the bar, he fetched back when he left the Navy, dunno if thats true or not! (dunno) (dunno)
