Like he did against Donny in the LDV? That worked for him didn't it. It seems to me that every other forward gets a run in the team apart from Nardiello. Conlon got 9 games and only scored 1 goal. Hayes went 9 games without scoring. Both of these had some very poor games in that time, but were continually given their chance. Nardiello has a poor game and he's straight out of the side. I'm not trying to argue that he's played great when he's been in the team this season, he hasn't, but it takes time to find your form. You need a run of games. All the other forwards get that, but he doesn't. He must have noticed that and I'm not surprised his confidence has taken a battering.
He was only on the pitch 12 minutes He scored a goal and I believe both the poll on the official site and the one on here gave the motm to Nardiello. 2 games prior to that he scored and assisted in the 4-0 defeat of Oldham. That was his first game back in the side. Then he had a poor game against Blackpool (not the only one by any stretch of the imagination) and he's instantly dropped. Despite that he comes on for the last 12 minutes of the Donny game and he's the best player on the pitch and scores. That's 2 goals in 3 games, only 2 of which he has started, so does he get a start for the next game? No, he hasn't started the game since. I'm not surprised if he's totally f*cked off with it all.
RE: He was only on the pitch 12 minutes I want him to do well but I've seen nothing from him since his first period on loan. He consistently seems not to understand the offside rule - although to be fair yesterday on one occasion he tried to check his run 3 times but we were that late playing it through that he got caught offside, but it's the way he just stands there cause the ball isn't direct to his feet that infuriates me.
Against Walsall Jarman did miss an easy chance, i agree. But the argument stands that he will still run himself into the ground working for the team, grafting for the cause. I've said before i'd much rather have a worker in the team than a lazy, bone idle money grabber. Yesterday he tried playing the ball the correct pass, butit didnt come off. Jarman has got the talent to kick on at Barnsley and it's about time some of the fans on here realised that Nardiello is a waste of time, space and money (banghead) (banghead) (banghead)
He is infuriating at times And I still don't know if he's got what it takes as he's never been given a long enough run in the side. Until he gets 10 consecutive games in the team, a luxuy that appears to be afforded to all our other strikers, no matter how poorly they play, then I just can't judge him. But the stats show he's got by far the best goals per game record of strikers at this club. 30 league starts for Barnsley and 16 goals. Better than a goal every other game. That's excellent by anyone's standards. I just can't understand why he isn't given a run in the side to prove himself.
For every one who chants his name there's at least a dozen who "f and blind" at him before he's even touched the ball. He's become the latest scapegoat. What's he supposed to do in 10 minutes - score a hat-trick? He didn't get one decent ball through to him in those few minutes he was on the pitch. He plays along the back man and bends his run so if the pass doesn't come he's bound to get caught offside now and again. Running around like a headless chicken for 10 minutes would propbably appease most people, but that doesn't make anyone a great footballer.
I think last weeks performance was the one that did it for most people yesterday he wasn't too bad, seemed as if he was trying at least.
I know what you mean But I don't think he'll ever be a Spupersub, he plays better when he starts especially alongside Hayes rather than Richards. One incident last week when he didn't chase a ball which was drifting out of play sparked a torrent of abuse and that's it how it is now - he's the new target. He's going to have to win the fans back round like Chopra did after the fans booed him when he scored but if he's constantly getting 10 minutes, I can't see him doing it.
Attitude His attitude and his body language ar piss poor. 2 managers (of dubious quality) have opted to keep him out of the starting line up I can only assume this is because of his poor attitude. We cannot afford passengers if we are to escape this division.
RE: Can you remind me... Nardiello? All of them! Whereas Jarman, playing out of position to start with, gets himself booked by tackling back in a defensive position. Hands up all those who've ever seen Nads in Barnsley's half of the field?
RE: He was only on the pitch 12 minutes MotM against Donny? Hardly worth adding to his CV is it? The difference between the strikers is this: If Hayes starts and he isn't scoring, he's working his nuts off creating chances for others; If Richards starts and he isn't scoring, he leads the line, battles for the ball and holds it up for others; If Nads starts and he isn't scoring, you're playing with ten men.
On the other side of the coin Goals win games while running your nuts off doesn't. Statistically it is fact that if Nads starts he's more likely to score than anyone else we've got.
RE: On the other side of the coin Running your nuts off helps to create space for others to exploit though.
RE: Attitude Nardiello has been taught as every other Man Utd striker... You watch Van Dutchbloke for instance. He waits on the defensive line and attacks as a forward should do. Rarely do you see him in the united half. I would rather have this than seeing Nads defending all the time. When the team behind him plays ***** as per Blackpool then how is he to get the service required to score. No wonder you look ***** when no one can get the ball to you! Stats don't lie, a better than a goal every other game.. He has to be played until someone else exceeds his scoring rate, simple. Some people just don't seem to see reason. He can obviously put the ball away, whereas just because other strikers run about like a headless chicken and have a poor record when it comes to their main focus on the pitch, they are seen to be the better option. To shout like dreamyboy... DEFENDING DOES NOT WIN MATCHES, SCORING GOALS DOES!! Nads has the best record for scoring goals hence he can help win a match more than the others until proven otherwise. ...
RE: Attitude MDG ... I can't believe i have just read that. Defending doesnt win games ? So against Darlington, Hassell and Austin didnt win us the game when they headed every single ball out of our penalty area. Are you a football fan ? or a nardiello fan. IMHO you love nards. Anyone who can proclaim that defending doesn't win games is not a real football fan
