RE: Need a Defender ASAP.... or two, or three This is the most annoying thing of the lot about Davey, three years ago when he took charge we were shipping sloppy, schoolboy error goals. Three years on and it's exactly the same, if not worse, and we still only have one or two defenders at the club who are reasonably competent at this level and in their prime. I've said it before and will say it again but for being so stubborn and arrogant or just plain inept enough not to recognise or do something about the need for a proper left back for three years is reason enough for him to be given the bullet straightaway. The minimum requirement is:- 1) Acquisition of a decent left back 2) Acquisition of a decent centre back with some pace and organisational skills; and 3) Someone who knows how to coach the defence to play as a unit. Three years evidence would say Davey doesn't have the ability to make any of 1-3 happen, so needs to go, otherwise the defensive ineptitude of the last four league games will continue for the next 42.
He had a decent, probably cheap left back on trial at gainsbrough... Okay, it was just gainsbrough, but that gele lad had a sound left peg, hard in the tackle, won lots a headers, no nonsense defending and simon did'nt fancy him. It really says it all! /poo
