Never mind who we are going to appoint next week (I can live in hope) and who we will get shut of player wise for a pittance, who do YOU think we should appoint after the next muppet gets the boot in approx 12-18 months, when we're languishing in the bottom four of league 1/2?? I'm plumping for Toby Tyke - loyal servant, there every other satdi, Colchester and Burnley stub in his wallet. Andy Rammell? Tony Vaughan? Phil Gridelet? Whoever managers Rochdale next?
"I dont want good generals, i want lucky generals" Appointing a manager is still an awful lot down to luck unless you can pick The Chosen One, Fergie or Harry Redknapp. Driscoll did a good job, then was rubbish for a bit. Phil Brown did amazingly well at Hull then went *****. Megson was good at Wednesday, crap elsewhere. Pick a manager and look at his record. It's not an exact science, that's why we've spent most of our time in the second tier and only once had a manager and bunch of players to get us into the top flight.
And don't forget - that same manager since leaving us had a brief unsuccessful stint in the premier league, before embarking on a managerial career of no better than average stats in the lower leagues.
