I wasnt at the match today and it sounds like they had a mare from teading this board but since their arrival they have been consistently on the good side. Shame Ashbagi can't say the same.
It's amazing how we I'm not sure what any coach can do with this lot. Who are we saying are championship quality, from our squad? Mads Helik Morris perhaps Styles if he's played left side. The rest? Even Collins has shown mass deficiencies recently. Poya got us to win a few games. I challenge anyone to make a consistently winning team out of what we've got, and from where we were. You have to factor in the fact that all teams in the league are trying to win every game too.
Weren't the other teams trying to win last season then? These players are more experienced now then they were under Stendel, Struber and Ismael. Yet until we had players like Quina who were prepared to drive forward, to gee up the crowd Poya got nothing more out of them, if anything maybe less. It's frustrating, by all accounts he's putting the spadework in but he's not showing he's a good manager
Can someone explain to me Devaney's credentials for being made first team coach. I mean in terms of his actual achievements as a coach.
Ince played his team today more like we played last season. They rushed us every time we had a player in possession. We carried on kicking it upfront today, much like last season. For Morris, who is not Dike. We did not have the players to play it out. Even against Reading. We aren't good enough. Playing hoofball won't work (although that's what we did today, miserably). Look what it did for Val at West Brom. We all have our opinions. We had an odd wonderful season last season, but everyone starts with a clean slate. I don't think our players collectively are good enough for this league.
He's doing a good job with the under 23's he knows the club inside out, the last one we put in charge from within the club did not do that bad a job did he, and by the way, why bring Barry Murphy into it.
Churton he as, as many credentials as Danny Wilson had and Paul Heckinbottom had before they took the job.
Fair point Colliers. I thought Hecky did a great job at first though he was handed a team that was already on an unstoppable run. You could add Clarke to that list too I suppose. However, giving the job to someone with no experience of the role can never be any more than a gamble in my eyes. Devaney has been here for the last four or five managerial changes and never got near the job as far as I'm aware. I'd rather employ someone with some sort of track record of success.
The first 11’s not bad at all. It’s better first 11 than Struber had & far better than what Schopp had earlier in the season. He’s got to put some faith in his squad. Palmer’s been poor this season but he’s not hopeless. Struber had him in the team playing well straight out of the academy & Val had him playing well. Benson was decent early in the season before his injury & Covid. There’s ability there. Leya Iseka’s unpredictable but surely he should be at least an option off the bench. We all know Adeboyejo’s limitations but he’ll graft & do his bit when defending a lead. Let’s not forget that 90% + of the fans wanted Schopp out when several of these lads were having to start week in week out so them fans must think that these players are better than what they’ve shown this season
