Who should be in the goal for our next match? I reckon this poll will be even less in Colgan's favour than the last match. Stark reality is if we stick with him we shall be relegated. We played alright today even if we did only have one attempt on goal that went straight to the keeper that didn't have to move. But Colgan was at fault for both goals with howlers. We cannot risk anymore mistakes of such vast degrees.
At fault for both goals today First went straight through him and second he was beaten at near post. They had three shots on target (that I remember), and he fecked up for two.
very Harsh, the Colgan=relegation thing. He's been solid for most of the season, has always. Lets not make him the whipping boy
no it isnt I'd give Lucas a chance. What have we got to lose exactly? Colgan's shipped 60+ goals this season - or had that fact escaped you?
Maybe it's time to give Colgan a rest for his own good. If he's man enough he'll work on it and try to improve his game. If not, watch out for flying teddies!!!
That fact hasn't escaped me, no. So you telling me we would have drawn 0-0 today with Lucas in goal? If it wasn't for Colgan, we wouldn't be in this division to begin with.
LOL @ "if it wasn't for Colgan" so - are you telling me we have an eternal debt to him and we can't drop him? We've managed to drop or sell most of the others. What's so special about Colgan that he deserves to automatically get picked? I'm not saying we'd have drawn 0-0 with Lucas in goal - you can't tell can you, as the first time Lucas touched the ball the entire game's pattern would have changed - but that's one thing we'll never know. BUt let's face it - Colgan IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS DIVISION.
Seems the majority of people think Lucas should be given a chance. Lets face it he cant do any worse than Colgan has over the last few months. Colgan has been a great servant to the club and has had some great games in a barnsley shirt but his form this season has got gradually worse. He used to make up for his obvious weaknesses (crosses, coming off his line, distribution, communication etc) by being a fantastic shot stopper, but he isnt even that at the moment. Confidence is shot. Give Lucas a chance.
Re: Agree Dreamboy We got slated for slaggin Colgan of last week, because he "is a good shotstopper". Forgive me if i'm wrong, but he had two relatively simple "shots to stop" today which went through his sieve like body. The first goal was a joke, and for the second he was beaten on his near post. As for his kicking. His first 7 clearances and kicks did not go to a red shirt. I know that there was 7 because (yes sadly) I counted. And as for not been in this division if it wasn't for him? We would have won 2-1 at Cardiff if he didn't let the second goal weasel under his body. Send him back out on loan to Dundee like Paul Hart did, its time to drop him. END OF THREAD -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LUCAS must now get his chance before its too late colgan needs a kick up the backside he thinks he is irreplacable thats whats up.
You have to understand something about DB3K He's young, easily influenced, a sheep, far too overstated and a thick as pig ****.
Nothing to do with the rest of our team letting them have the ball and the shots then.....just down to the poor old keeper and no one else
I agree that the rest of the team are just as much to blame for our position in the league but the bare facts are that Colgan didnt do his job today and has been off form for a while now. If it was an outfield player who was so blatantly off form he would be dropped. Why should the keeper be any different?
RE: At fault for both goals today Complete lack of protection for both goals. First one was allowed oceans of room wher Heckinbottom should have been and should never have got in a shooting position. Second one, Kyel Reid miscontrolled near halfway line, Austin ambled back like a lame horse and Connolly was allowed to dance accross with no meaningful challenge. Not all Colgan's fault, although he seemed to be slow to get down for both.
