Was one of only two Barnsley players who were rated in the top 100 players in the Championship by the Football League.

So why the hell does he get so much stick on the board?

I dont trust them things. Was it Devaney who was rated amongst the top midfielders as well, when we know that he cant cross a ball - which as we all know is a vital part of wing-play.

And we all know that Devaney was usually doubled up on by the opposition.

    Regardless of my opinion...

No-one watches every Championship player every week, so no-one can possibly give a definitive 'top 100' players.

Ask 1000 different football fans and you'd get 1000 different top 100's, and probably 1000 different top 10's.

    Re-watch the playoff final...

Devaney can't cross? FFS! Cross for Hayes goal was good, cross for Reid's header at 2-2 was sensational.

Sorry mate - disagree. Devaney can cross. Some of his crosses are well beyond what can be expected at second tier level.

Disco can't cross and Colgan is crap !!

Disco on his day is quality and he does a few tricks to put a smile on the face...
Colgan ... I'm fed up of saying it, great shot stopper and how many times as he saved us...if he was great at getting off his line and commanding the area as well then we could not afford him and he would be playing somewhere else....

2 very good players for this club.

I suggest you have a look here and you will find how the games are assessed.

Assesors are at every league game and this is supported by video analysis.

    Qualitative not quantative assessment.

IMHO He can hit a decent ball into the box...

.....sometimes... but the difference being for a decent crosser you look at somebody like Hendrie who actually looked up and crossed to a man rather than an area thats the difference,

RE: IMHO He can hit a decent ball into the box...

But it's not necessarily about "hitting the man" when putting a ball into the area, it's putting it into a position for a player to come onto and meet....so perhaps it's as much down to forwards who can't anticipate the cross.

Got to agree with that as well because the anticipation of our front men(with one or two exceptions) has been crap for a while that also goes for following up on rebounds.Just feel that a combination of both is needed because we hardly ever look for a man on crosses now
