It is a wind up but on a serious note i don't want the club to be buying on the cheap average championship / league one players or ex premeirship who are way passed their sell by date. there must be some decent players across Europe or South America who could do a job for us

 

We've already tried that & it didn't work

 

We've got to many foreigners in the squad already.

We need english players. Simon Cox would be my number one choice for a striker - but he's league one - so you wouldnt want?

I said average players Cox's has been linked to WBA for £2m and has been banging the goals in , so i would'nt suggest he's average, if we can match that then all well and good

 

Daniel Sturridge would cost as much as Zigic in wages and fees

No - not a chance.

He cost 20m ffs. Players like that command wages in excess of £50k. Valencia would want that covering for a loan move.

Sturridge is out of contract in the summer at Man City. Any club in the prem that will sign him will be happy for him to gain experience and cover a portion of his wages for that. Plus there would be no fee for doing so.

Dan i know i am flogging a dead horse here but the bottom line is i don't what to see us sign another dead horse as a striker

 

Cryne/Davey are talking in terms of bringing players in with CHAMPIONSHIP experience. With that in mind, I don't think we are going to see the club scouring Europe and South America much this summer.

And I dont think Cryne will let Davey take a risk. We have a bit more money this year and I dont think Cryne will sanction a move for another unproven foreigner from a ten bob league.

 

I think you will find he was plying his trade in Spain before Everton signed him and then went back there on loan before coming to us

If memory serves me correctly he signed for Everton from Bogota and had to be loaned to a Spanish team because he didnt qualify for a work permit.

Had he been playing in spain before everton signed him then he would have qualified for a work permit.
