Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently he needs games hopefully he plays every week and the extend it until the summer
Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently what position did he play today , hope we play him when he comes back to us
No he is not a decent championship player. He may be though. In time. He may suffer from struggling to fit into a particular position. But for now he is not yet good enough for any position in our first team.
Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently I'd like to agree and think he should get more of a chance with us, but if he's that good four managers wouldn't have ignored him.
Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently I think that's a little harsh considering his age and the fact that Keith hill and David flitcroft seem like identical twins with one brain between them
Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently The theory that 4 managers didn't like him doesn't add up to me. From what I can remember... Davey gave him his debut at a record breaking age. Can't have expected him to become a first team regular during his reign. Robins DID rate him. Admitted that he probably played too early but by the end of his final season, Reuben was playing and scored a cracker on the final day - only for Robins to leave in the summer. I can only imagine that, should Robins have stayed, he would have become a fairly regular feature in the following season. Robins also tried to take him to Huddersfield. I think Hill liked him and tried to take him under his wing (take the credit for his development). Admittedly, Hill probably rated him the least of the four and had brought in (and kept bringing in) other options for that position. Flicker on the other hand I don't get on this. Put lots of effort into converting him to a LWB during the summer as competition for Golbourne. Golbourne subsequently leaves and you would imagine it would be a no-brainer to promote Reuben into that position - doesn't really happen despite some good performances. Lets also not forget the comments from Flicker suggesting that RNL is ready for a 40 game season. Then loans him out and shows a confidence-sapping, lack of faith in the player.
Re: just hope we do not let him go permanently The goal he scored in robins last game was quality, flicker picks players who at best are average championship players and seems reluctant to give our young players a chance , if Lazarus had as many games and chances to impress as Kennedy and fox etc then he may have become a regular too
You could play him just about in any position except centre half and goalie and he would be better than most of what we've got.
