With the side that we have together at the minute, we should be going to Plymouth with nothing less than victory (a point at the very least) in our minds. For me, with maybe ONE addition to the defence and another TOP QUALITY striker - Rob Earnshaw, Freddy Eastwood etc..(ie Odejayi, Mostto going...) there is NO reason why we can't challenge for the playoffs next season. There's no reason why we can't challenge for that 6th place this season as a matter of fact, a win tonight and the promotion push is back on, we have to go for it - beats looking over our shoulder at the relegation battlers. Come on you reds, 3 points tonight would do nicely!!!
Spot on mate. I am sure the players are thinking like that. 5pts is nothing to make up, but we have got to get some points on the road. Our home form will not be quite enough to get us in top 6. Starts tonight, 3pts.
Who knows? With the money from going up, plus Mr Cryne, Plus the added bonus from Season ticket sales etc - and 6000 away fans every week, we could build on the squad and become the next Reading!!!
BANG ON! Why look over our shoulders when we can look forward. I suppose it depends if you are a glass half empty kind of person or not. I certainly believe we should be looking towards the play-offs rather than the possibility of relegation. It can be done, but, as mentioned, our away form simply MUST improve if we are to achieve anything.
Even if we were, we could all enjoy a season in the big time and come back down a much wealthier club and be in a good position to challenge again. I would be happy being a yo-yo club between Championship and PL for a few years. Just keep slowly building rather than chasing a dream though.
