If you were our Manager, and you could buy only one player in the close season, (Spending up to £1.5 million say) who would that player be? No Ronaldo's or Rooney's please as I think we all agree they are unlikely to join Barnsley as this stage of their careers!
Not from what i've seen of him! Much prefer Hammill any day, i'd take Nicky Bailey from Charlton, attacking central midfielder and someone who could fill the boots of Brian Howard to play along side Colace/Anderson. Leaving JCR out wide !!! Albet they would demand around a million for him.
Simon Cox has always been my number one choice but Raziak is only on loan at Watford from Southampton, so might be worth a tout, if we want a target man striker. I think that he will want higher wages, though and might go to a bigger club, or back to the continent. Talking of the Saints, how about David McGoldrick, as already touted. Amongst other good players from relegated teams could be Andy Gray at Charlton (a bit old now - too much of another Macken?). Best two at Norwich are Clingan and Hoolahan. I think Croft may be injured and not the player he was.
Rasiak. Would love to know how they justified sending him out on loan! What does everyone think about Nyatanga now?!?!
Has to be a striker, based on our inept goalscoring record this year. So any one from... Cox - Swindon Town
Lambert - Bristol Rovers
Fryatt - Leicester City
Hooper - Scunny (and to bring his current gaffer with him)

RE: Has to be a striker, based on our inept goalscoring record this year. So any one from... Cox or Lambert would both be class, but there'll be fierce competition for them Fryatt - no chance he'll come to us now that leicester are up Hooper - decent but we could prob do with a hold up striker first
