do people persist in calling for nardiello to get into the team? he backs awaw from every ball, he's scared of gettinfg possession and when he should be coming for it he runs to the other sde of the pitch.

he shows no effort or emphasis and hes had enough chancee to show us why he should be on the pitch instead of anyone else but i have yet to see why he should be. Are we living in the past when he actually used to do something instead of the nothingness he does now? I know tommy wright wasnt any better today they were both very very mediocre and edging onto poor and had no where near the effect hayes and richards have on an attck even if that isnt any good.

people who shout nardis name to come on and want him in the team, what do you watch? do you replay his debut over and over again ? he does nowt and you cant see it absolutely B*ll*cks

stop complaining - its about time he was given a chance int team

by the way i have never heard our fans singing hayes, richards or wrights name - so it shows who they favour

    i like nardi

thought he got stuck in well at times missed a good chance but which of our strikers would you fancy?

As for Hayes he is a class actand makes so many of our goals, quality player anyone who doesnt realise this aint watching the games properly

i have liked richards from the start and think him and hayes make a good partnership

even if they dont get on the score sheet they alwasy have a hand in the setups, hayes with his skill and richards with his holdup play and knock on headers.

i dont know why they werent picked today there must have been some reason but i dont know what. anyway i would never pick nardi or wright over those two. nardi i would say has been better than wright oday but i just dont get why we chant "nardiello" to get him on the pitch yet Hayes and Richards are never credited or chanted when they are proven to be better. it doesnt make sense.

Best goals per games ratio amongst our strikers

Worked his socks off today , always made himself available to his team mates . All our strikers are in their early twenties and nowhere near the finished article . All of them have areas of their game they need to work on , Nardiello is no different . To persist in bringing up his two goal debut and then claim he's done nothing since , is a repeat of an urban myth . Did he not score anymore goals after that during 2003/04 ? Did he not score any goals when given his chance after Paul Hart left ? Had he played the same number of games as Hayes , are you honestly saying he wouldn't have bettered a scoring figure of 6 goals in 35 starts ?
I think it's fair to say the pair of us will have to agree to disagree .

Thought we won alot in the air up front today both Wright and Richards but never seemed to pick up on the second ball,Richie is going to need all is strickers in the next 6 weeks so its fair enough that he's keeping them all keen.

i agree to disagree over the work rate then but it still comes down to should he be rated above haye

and richards an praised onto the pitch oinstead. and how good is it for moral when ritchie is booed for taking him off and then nobody gives a damn when richards or hayes hove had a good gam are taken off.

    He played well today

I have no gripe with his display this afternoon. He was up against two very physical defenders and he looked pretty determined. Don't forget, Southend are top of the league and certainly no pushovers.

I couldn't see a lot wrong with his "offside" goal either. I suspect the other linesman (running our defence) would have allowed it to stand.

yeah that other linesman was shocking i was right inline

each time when he let there players carry on, if they're not intefering then what are they doing in our penalty area? playing bowls.

RE: Got to be Nads & Hayes

Thought Nardiello showed a lot more committment today and it would be Hayes & Nardiello at Blackpool for me. When he was clean through at 2-0 the angle wasn't great and he should have squared the ball to Howard to tap home. Mind you it would probably have got chalked off for offside anyway.
When Tilson ran fifty yards to abuse the ref my mate in front turned to me and commented that the officials would be intimidated and we'd get nothing second half. How right he was, bloody disgrace ! At 2-2 I thought we might crumble and lose the game but we showed great character to get back on top and but for the clown in black we would have won.
Southend are defo the best side I've seen and look worthy champions. Forget Trundle, Freddie Eastwood is far an away the best player in this league, a class act.
Two wins from three now needed for the play-offs I reckon. But knowing our beloved Reds as I do, no doubt we will do it the hard way and take it right to the wire !!
