    Quote (Markstokes) :-

Been looking through a couple of Red Rain's reports and although very detailed, concise and well put together it is surprisingly negative.

I notice that in the recent one the line up is not right, but having covered their games I have a different slant. If you are looking for a last away win I would say that in Preseason, a team made mostly of scholars were tremendous and last week behind closed doors Reuben was the best man on the field and that was with first team players on show.

It is a little disappointing to see young kids be so heavily critisized. There is some really good talent there and we need to support them not slaughter them.

    ----------------

I don't see what is so wrong with this post. If the guy has a different opinion to Red Rain then so be it, whats the point of having a forum discussion otherwise?

Some people on here are so over sensitive it's unbelievable. It seems like when someone with any connection to the club at all decides to post on here, they get nothing but abuse. Why? Is there a hint of jealousy maybe from some? I just don't see the point and can see why maybe sometimes the communication from the club can seem distant from the fans if they only experience negativity. Maybe if some were a little more welcoming to some sensible discussion we may all profit more from better relationships with club officials etc, maybe they would even post the odd comment.

Anyway all my point is...Each to their own.

I think that the point is

That the objectivity and motives of somebody with financial and/or business connections with Barnsley FC cannot always be relied upon and that continued optomism and the reasoning behind the slating of anything slightly negative about the club by these people is called into question.

take for example one poster that I wont name (still a member but not active). He used to claim to be an ordinary fan with no connections to the club but in fact he was linked to the club as more than a fan (i won't say how for legal reasons obviously). He posted propaganda all the time in order to make certain aspects of barnsey football club look good. He posted blatent lies at times and he was rather successful in controlling the mindset and opinions of a number of people on here to such an extent that they stuck their head in the sand about the real issues.

Cases like this in the past are why people are suspicious of the motives of people associated with the club.

if you stick your head above the parapet you have got to be prepared to have it shot at

lets face it, he initially came on here trying to flog his newspaper and in doing so he'sset himself up as a target to people who don't share the same rose tinted view of the goings off at Oakwell. He must have known that from the start, surely he's not that naive?? is he?</p>
