    Did ours last month, took about 3 weeks, did it on line, I think the delays are for the old fashioned paper way

    They say to allow 10 weeks I think. We did a new passport for my son last week and sent ID documents to them. We go away in Sept.

    it’s a renewal for her. We have done it online and just received text to say they received old passport back. So hopefully it’s progressing.

    As others have said, there is a difference between online and paper applications. Its a few years ago now, but mine took longer as I needed to find someone to approve who I was :confused:

    Yeah its 10 weeks to allow for all processes not just new ones but sounds like they are on with it which is good. Fingers crossed it comes back soon.

    Depending on how much she's aged from any previous ones, the next step might be that they request that someone confirms her identity, as happened for my 12yo's application. If so, this is also all now done online. You provide an email address for the appropriately qualified person and they do the confirmation directly with the passport office. You get notified as and when the various steps happen.

    In our case it added 2-3 days to the process for her passport, compared to my own application where they were obviously able to tell my new photo was the same person as on the previous one.

    Panicking again. This is now turning into a bit of a nightmare. Currier came to deliver passport today. Completely ignored sign to use mail box instead of door letter box, completely ignored the fact the passport was supposed to be signed for and decided to post it through the door and feed it to our idiot dogs
    Currier company completely denied any wrong doing, passport office say have to send for another or get an appointment. Maybe be able to get a refund. A manager will phone when the can be arsed if ever
