If the guy was already employed then that would be an acceptable reason...... I was referring the comment in regards to Devaney looking like a likely candidate, someone who wanted the job who is already employed would be there now, no question about it.
Have to say, if Devaney was going to be offered it, I’m gonna really struggle to understand why there’s been such a delay.
Apart from him being on holiday and unable to do the presser or start work? Seriously though, they might want to consider him along with who ever else applies.
Martin is technically one of several coaches with the development squad, why should he be there? Being in the frame for the top job is purely speculation. We’ll hear something from the club when there’s something solid to report. That’s how it should be. It’s a sensitive business appointing a manager, with lots of parties to consider. Anybody else want correcting, while my bossy boots are still on..?
Should he still be on holiday though mate? The players are back, I would expect the first team coach to be. Especially when he’s now also technically the most senior coach at the club and prospective head coach. Not a great start for me like. Paterson was officially our AC a couple of hours ago. He’s already with their squad and fully kitted up.
Speaks volumes when the club don't announce his departure and we find out from the club he's joined.....once again we appear to be tinpot.......saying that is there anybody senior at Grove street or are they all on holiday or gardening leave.... Wonder if whiteys still got a job or as he been replaced with a school leaver that they haven't told yet ....( no disrespect to whitey intended )...
So if Duff was still in charge, would you expect the first team coach to be back for the first week? Cos I doubt Devaney's recently booked, if he has.
Because Duff & Paterson are already in a pre season camp getting everything ready, whereas our probable heir apparent is still on the beach. I just think it's appalling and reflects the difference in professionalism both in terms of the respective clubs in question and management teams.
So doesn't Devaney deserve a holiday. Probably organised it when we still had a Head Coach (even if behind the scenes he was scheming a move).
Of course he does, but you wouldn't expect teachers to take a holiday whilst GCSE's are ongoing and I wouldn't expect a football coach to take a holiday during pre season.
Yes I would. I'm not gonna get wound up about it. I'm sure he'll say it's all been sanctioned etc. I just don't think it's a good look, that the players are now back for pre-season, and there's no manager, assistant or first team coach with them.
