or Patrick Cryne statement. The main question that needs to be answered by Mr. Cryne is about leadership. Who is leading the club?? Patrick has gone on record many times saying that he knows very little about the football business and would not want to get directly involved! However we have a situation with no proper managment structure in place. We have a part time director and a promoted general manager to act as proxy for Mr. Cryne. Mr. Cryne, having said he did not want to get involved in the running of the club, is now 'running' the club at arms length through Mr. Rowing. This post is in no way intended as an attack on Mr. Cryne, Mr. Rowing or the football club. As a supporter I owe an immense debt of gratitude for saving the club from collapse. I just feel that the question of leadership and direction for the club needs to be addressed and I would have hoped the Chronc would have asked the question. I admit Ihave not asked the club myself, but as an individual I do not feel it is my place. What I hope is that the club will give more information on the leadership and direction of the club to the fans and public at large. Come on yoooou reds!
New board members? I think it's unhealthy for any organisation to have so few folks on the Board. (How many? Three?). Would like to know what's being done to recruit new board members - even if folks don't contribute financially, it's good to have people with different opinions/ expertise etc on Board.
No 2! Mr. Cryne is not a director. Its just part time Barry Taylor, and promoted general manager Donald Rowing.
I've said this time and again
Look what happens when you don't have a formalised "Chairperson" and ideally, in my view, a Chief Exec with experience of running a football club day to day. If we want to save money we can have the two roles combined in the same person. But I'll tell you what, that person isn't Don Rowing.
Now I've hardly been Don's biggest fan in the past but I know he has the club's interests at heart and that he works bloody hard. But that isn't what we need- we need someone who has actually run a football club and driven that club forward, and someone who is media savvy.
Look at what we have now - and I'm not apportioning blame here- but we have a club who seem completely anti-media, set up their own newspaper and then deny that itisn'tindependent, there's rows with radio stations big and small, the club's website doesn't seem half as good as it used to be...I could go on.
And we have a manager who, whenever the media come near him, reacts like a cat thats had a bucket of watter splashed on it. Its not good.

But it helps to have a good Business background and lets face Patrick has certainly proved this is the case. But he knows and I know you only are as successful as the people you employ and if they are not up to the mark you change them. Thats good business
RE: I've said this time and again Patrick has been a very successful businessman and I am sure he is aware of these things himself. My guess is that the current situation is to cover a temporary period until a new managment and structure is put into place. Hopefully this can be clarified.
RE: But it helps to have a good Business background But my point is, Mr. Cryne is not a director of Barnsley FC!
