    Require some advice re PC. monitor comes on for about 5 seconds then goes off? Tried new cables, even changed monitor without success. Can't understand what's going on.

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    When you say it goes off does it just go to the standby mode with a light on but nothing on the screen? Like the orange light? Or does it go completely off?

    could be graphics card?

    try starting in safe mode (so that it doesn't load the graphics drivers) that should tell you if it's a driver issue or not.

    Yes, goes into standbye mode. Comes on for about 5 secs then goes off. Switch monitor off and then on again, same happens, stays on for about 5 sec then goes off?
