10 times the player tonight than he's been for the majority of this season. Must be a great relief for him to be able to win the ball back, give it to one of our skilful midfielders who then takes the ball up the other end and gives Perkins the chance to catch his breath. We've been under the cosh for a lot of this season. We've gone defensive and tried to hold out against wave after wave of attacks. We've failed and Perkins hasn't looked happy. He's had too much to do. He looked born to play in that team tonight and was an essential ingredient in an excellent team performance.

Fox did his bit by relieving Perkins of having to try to do too much and by being available for the ball.

perkins has always needed the right player alongside him. always. for people to be suddenly writing him off as $hit is just mental. i still think 3-5-2 is a stronger formation for the players we have, and i think it's criminal that kelvin finds himself back on the bench. but it doesn't look like flicker agrees, so it looks like i'll just have to get used to it...

Funny how you can write one thing and someone reads something entirely different.

At no point did I say Perkins doesn't have any skill.

Spot on Jay, none of this dropping off them malarky and letting them come on to us, in and at em that`s Perks game, get it and give it. He was in my top 3 with Crainie and McCourt.

Was impressed with the movement on offer last neet.
