I don't believe either reading or ourselves will be involved at either end of the table when the season finishes. With that in mind would you rather watch a young hungry side trying their best to play attacking football and creating chances( not as much yesterday) or a team that pass sideways all game until they can feed one of two attacking players out of the eleven, whilst spending a third of the match watching the goalkeeper preparing to take goal kicks. I thought be showed naivety yesterday which is understandable given the age of our squad and lack of experience at this level. Saying that, it's normally exciting to watch and I'm enjoying it
The last time we were in the Championship (with Wrecking Ball Hill, etc) we would have grabbed the chance of having a side like Reading's. As you say, ours is more exciting and that will be all the more so when the newer recruits have had a little time to gel and adapt to our style.
The way we're playing right now is fantastic and I wouldn't change it personally. With a bit of luck there is an outside chance we could sneak into the top six and that is what we should aim for. If we don't make it then it will have still been a fantastic season. I hope I never have to endure the kind of dross we got under Johnson, Hill, Flicker (second season) and a few others in recent times again.
