I don't begrudge Behare MOM today - he was wonderful today and great to watch - but Pinnock was huge and dominated throughout. The way he carries the ball out of defence, marshalls the defence, his timing and composure - just incredible. He is the continental/Italian style of centre half and one of the best I've seen in a red shirt - and we've seen some bloody good centre backs down the years.

He's Des Walker good and Walker was one of the best defenders I've ever seen live.

Reminds me of Viv Anderson. And young Williams of Trippier.

I don't want to be controversial but I thought he struggled with the physicality of #21 for the first 20 or so minutes. Was excellent thereafter. I am tucking into a huge bowl of humble pie as I started this season convinced that Pinnock was not as good as Lindsay or Jackson. I'll stick to my day job.

I think Anthony Joshua would have struggled with the physicality of their number 21; an absolute beast!

Some way to go to equal Paul Futcher or Mick McCarthy. But yes a masterful performance today, same goes for Lindsay.

That's the one defender he reminds me of the most, I'm not saying he's as good as but the way he plays is so similar, walker played for england, pinnock has been good in league 1 but there are similarities. Great player

Paul Futcher was the comparison for me.
