we have a miner on our club crest.....why is it a stereotype.....

Because it's easy to get to on the train line and my mate goes there, so makes sense to go to a gym where you know someone.

    I confused

I thought we were proud of our heritage?

Pit winding gear, brass bands - it's part of who we are and be proud of it.

Sadly, the further away we get from those days, the less it means to to the younger generations.

We are, but do they show pottery every time they visit Stoke or steel every time they visit Sheffield? The inference is that the town has nothing else to offer.

Nowt to with pride or lack of

Just thinks it's too obvious a reference point and lazy from the bbc

and another thing I can't understand this "how will chelsea cope going to a ground like oakwell?"

is that the 23,000 seat oakwell with three sides of the ground rebuilt in the 1990s and top class facilities

anyone would think they were going to millmoor for ****'s sake

Its not a cliche we were a very successful mining Town.

That is something we should be proud off. The Town was built on coal even if the wealth it produced went to London.

80 bodies still underground less than a mile from the Well.

    I love that view

and I don't mine seeing it on the box.

It's part of Barnsley's heritage afterall and we might not be a mining town anymore but you can't deny it's importance in our history.

I do wish they would recognise that's it's only part of what the Tarn is about
