Don't get me wrong I have no axe to grind with Wilson. However I understand what LJ is trying to do in the last week more than I ever did in Danny's tenure. I can see he wants a balanced side with player in their natural positions. More physical play up front. Solid traditional defending, centre halfs and mod rn full backs. Creativity going forward. I can see he has a plan, iterative steps to make it happen and seems to work on game plans which translate on the pitch. Coupled with letting players talent do the talking and upping the physical fitness I like what he is doing in his early stages. Time will tell on how he make it happen in a consistent, competetive and entertaining way but at least I see what he is doing.

Yeah there's definitely a clear plan and it's refreshing that Johnson is open about what he wants to do in the media.

I know it's easy to share the manager's vision when everything is going well, but to be fair, when the bad run inevitably comes, at least we'll not be able to complain how he's gone about things, like you say, ensuring we have a balanced side which is what we were crying out for with Wilson but he either didn't see it or just couldn't find the right players. We now seem to have some genuine width, and at least one full back who can get forward which I think we have been missing ever since Golbourne left.

I'm still not entirely comfortable with the reliance on loan signings but I realise that's the only way we can go at this time of the year - if every loan signing was like Ramage and Pearson then fair enough, but they rarely are. Hopefully next season we'll have a settled squad of players covering all positions all contracted to the club - I imagine Ramage will probably be taken on permanently.
