If Luke wants to stay at Barnsley I can't see any problem getting him to sign a deal.If Craig wants to keep his options open until the summer I personally would take the best offer for him in January.End of the day players have all the power,as a club we have to do the right things for the club.

I wouldn't take the best offer if he's the only one still banging the goals in for us. That might be the difference between another season in this league or dropping to the alehouse league. The cost of going down far outweighs any derisory offer in Jan for him imho, unless we are talking a couple of million which aint gunna happen.
We have to keep him if he's scoring if that means letting him go for nowt and we stop up at the end of the season then so be it. Rather that than the alternative.....

Thats the difference between fans and players. If someone offered me a free season ticket for three years to watch Sheffield Wednesday its a no--no. Barnsley FC is in my blood and nothing (even Conference football) would drag me away from Oakwell. Players today havent the loyalty to a team as they had in the past, mainly because ,in the past, the wage level at most clubs was similar(apart from a few top level clubs) and there was no financial incentive to uproot your family and move. Now you can double/triple your wages moving clubs in the same division. Be honest, if someone said to you I will triple your wages and give you a sense of achievement by winning things would you say no thanks? I know there is a sense of achievement in keeping a team in the Championship but not all players have that mentality I appreciate where Hill is coming from when he talks about the right DNA. Fans laugh at him for saying things like that but players willing to run their arse off for BFC will do for me.

Didn't Keith say at the end of last season that the money he took for Vaz Te wasn't really worth losing him for the rest of the season? Lets see if we learn

This is, of course, if the vultures do indeed circle around Davies. I'm not totally sure that they will. I think he's still a work in progress and I doubt any team would put in a good offer in January. Personally I see him walking on a free to a Derby or a Forest in the summer. Another player who should have been sold on for money gone. Time will tell, but the whole point of the way the club needs to be ran is selling players on for profits after helping us for a period. Unless we start to challenge ourselves of course.
