I notice a few complaints about players out of position yesterday. Obviously they started 'in position' with the exception of Julian Gray (who to be fair is more than accustomed to playing LB), so it was only after we went 4-4-2 that Anderson was forced out of position too. The 'problem occurred' when Doyle came on for Butterfield, who looked like he needed subbing to me.

So, a questionn: if Doyle had come on, and Robins had changed the team round so that we lined up as follows - would he be praised for putting them in 'natural' positions (assuming Doyle indeed is a RB) or hammered for making too many changes in one go?

    Steele

    Doyle, Foster, Moore, Kozluk

    Hammill, Colace, Anderson, J.Gray

    Hume, A.Gray

Personally I don't think it would matter - if Swansea had put away one of their 2nd half sitters it would have been the end of the world as we know it, but as we got lucky it was a 'battling point'

When their striker missed his kick into an empty net around 70 mins? Or when they put one wide from 10 yards in injury time?

Don't get me wrong, we defended well and earned the point IMHO, but we got a bit of luck too. You could also say Swansea had the same, with the Moore header and Gray deflection missing fractionally in the first half, but in the end I thought we were fortunate to escape with a point.

    I dont think thats luck.

Against a team with -5 goal difference. I dont think we are lucky when under performing strikers dont score their chances against us like they didnt against aginst other teams.

Swansea lucky as well then to get a draw? Moore, Hume and Gray chances?

    RE: To be fair KFC

that's the team I would have liked us to kick off with (apart from Steele obviously!).
We ended the match with a central midfielder on the right wing, a right footed winger on the left wing, a left winger at full back and a full back in midfield.
Had Davey done that there would have been uproar on here.
That's not meant as a criticism of Robins, I just hope he soon practices what he preached in his opening press conference about "putting players in their best positions".

We were lucky that we were playing a toothless side that couldn't take advantage of defensive gift after defensive gift. Most sides in this division would have been much more clinical and we would have been put to the sword yesterday. The scary part of it is that we haven't played anyone yet.
