they are miles away from anywhere-so whoever plays them midweek is going to have to travel whether it's us or anyone else-their nearest away game is Cardiff-153 miles then Southampton 157 miles !!

But no doubt Cardiff and Southampton are playing them on Saturdays.

Given teams have about 4 home and 4 away matches midweek how would that work?

to be honest I would like a total re-think on matchdays....

I know this fly's in the face of tradition but here goes.... why not Scrap Saturday football...now before you all jumpdown my throat have a think.

Many people now work on many saturdays a thing the modern world has brought to us. So why not have ALL the Week -End matches on a sunday with a mid -Day or 1pm kick off... this would enable many many more to attend who cannot otherwise, also the time I suggest (1PM) aint too restrictive for travelling fans,in most cases, and it also enables the journey home to be achieved by a reasonable hour too. Wives/partnres non footy folk get to go shopping on saturay as is their want and the footy mad person sees his/her team. Surely this can only benefit clubs as I am sure all can see that attendances can only go up.

or just go shopping on sunday

as all the shops are open anyways , those service secter workers who work weekends, im sure usually swap there days around to fit in family/football commitments.

Not many retailers will allow workers to take Saturdays off or even a couple of hours. Saturday is classed as a major trading day and any request for an afternoon off to watch football is normally met with a fck off tablet. Folk can use annual leave but then they have to reconcile that with family commitments etc, not easy when most shop workers get 20 days leave a year.

    Stupid idea I'm afraid.

Post match analysis has to be done in the pub on Saturday night without having to fuss about getting up for work the next day. Monday absenteeism would rocket if all games were played on a Sunday.
