Craig Davies is getting better and better - looked strong today
Matty Done looked good - like him!
Digby has a big future in front of him

Positives very much encouraged mate, but i'll piss on my own chips with what might be perceived as a 'negative' response!

I don't think Davies is getting better, he's doing what he's done since he got himself fit, which is to offer a goal threat. I don't think his hold up play is great, and as the lone striker if he's not in the game, the ball keeps coming back at us, as it did in the first half today, when he was anonymous. Loads around me were saying 'get him subbed' (mind you, they'd have taken half the team off if they could), but then he popped up to score a cracking goal which he made for himself with the turn into space. That's what he offers, and it's been a while since we had a player who offered as much of a threat - I think he'll end the season closer to 20 goals than anyone since Bruce Dyer.

Done, in a similar way, is a player who offers some strong points but some weaknesses too. I really like his movement, and sometimes when things aren't going well he's the only one offering options. He doesn't hide, and he tries his best. But, he's technically limited, and very rarely beat Gunter with a cross today, and has often failed to have any impact at all on games this season.

In both cases, I think we have to accept that they're decent players doing their best, who will hopefully improve with Championship experience, but who would be playing for bigger clubs if they had the full package.

And I completely agree about Digby, as posted in the other thread, he looks to have quality in most areas of his game.

Forgot Dawson as well - looks keen and willing to get stuck in. Him and Perkins will make a good pairing

All entitled to our opinions!!Thought Davies's hold play was good today - caused problems when he went out wide. You can pick out weaknesses in any player - they all have them - but I see an improvemnet in Done . Made a difference against Pompey and looked good today.

Allowed and welcomed. I had Done as my MoM today, just shading it over Digby.

Oh definitely improved. As I say, I hope over time the experience of playing in the Championship will improve them as players, and we'll be all the better for it.

If Done was a bit quicker, he'd cause no end of trouble. Shame that can't be taught/improved!

Bonus, let's save some dosh and stop paying him then.

I'm interested to know who you don't think is doing their best. I don't think that the commitment of any of the players is in question, just the quality. Perhaps McEverley can be accused of being low on confidence and 'hiding' as a result, but I don't think any of them are out just to pick up a wage, which hasn't always been the case in recent years.

I think kfc you need to slag your defence off not your striker as hes scoring his goals.

I'm not slagging anyone off mate. Davies has done a great job, and I'm dead happy to have a striker who, well, strikes.

Just saying that effort and commitment is not in question for any of them for me. So who do you think is playing for the pay packet?
