From the BBC Barnsley boss Keith Hill is confident of making further signings before next week's loan deadline. The Tykes brought in Marcus Tudgay from Nottingham Forest on Wednesday and Hill told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We're constantly looking and we know that we can recruit now. "I've never been this enthusiastic ahead of a deadline, I'm 100% confident we can bring in the kind of player we want." Glad Keith is a bit happier - bodes well for the team
so i think that tells us he had been told ho couldnt bring anyone in ie the takeover. it also tells me the takeover is no more and its back to bussiness for keithy. wish the club would just tell us the truth or tell us something
It's like living with a manic depressive following the messages coming out of our club. Next week we'll all be berated again for not understanding the financial restrictions Keith is working under.
Takeover or not, a third tier club is not an attractive proposition for any party. If additional funds have been allocated by the current board I can only think it is not insure previous investment, relegation is not an option.
ahahah if so then why we loaning,,and not getting in better named players,,all a load,,,come on the reds
That's not what it tells me. A club shouldn't just stand still just incase of the off chance a takeover might happen. We need to sort players contracts and keep looking to strengthen the team no matter what.
After forest at home I think they must have sat down with Keith and he's said something along the same lines. If the takeover doesn't happen and we carry on as we are we might as well give up now. People give hill stick on here for what he says and does but I think he does care and he does want the best for the club and he's doing his best to bring in the players to help us do that. Like he says though his hands are/were tied to some extent but given some support this week he's brought in what looks to be a decent forward and he's still on the lookout for more. Hopefully the negative press conferences and after match interviews will turn into positive less frustrating conversation and Keith and flitcroft can get on with what they are good at and start producing performances like the football from before Christmas last year
Think Patrick Cryne was in a no-win situation really. If there was a takeover (acquisition) in the pipeline, then he simply could not talk about this in open forum and had probably signed legal Confidentiality Agreements to support the project. Having been involved in this type of situation before, when the Owner says "the purse is closed and no more spending" then as an employee, you have to accept it and keep quiet, otherwise any potential deal would be off immediatley. Maybe this is what has clearly upset Keith this last 4 weeks or so, and this will have been building up inside without any chance to release the tension? In the short-term we have lost 4 weeks of the season by not being able to recruit through a very difficult period. In the long run/bigger picture it may (and probably will) be a good thing for REDS?
Anybody else puzzled by Keiths comment regarding injuries. He says when asked if anybody will be back in the next couple of weeks, his comment was "not looking that far forward it could be somebody elses problem then". Bit strange to say the least
