been churning this over all night and I think it works like this Win at Huddersfield - we are safe - no matter what happens in the other games we finish abouve Bristol Wolves and Huddersfield - hopefully Millwall join Wolves and Bristol Lose at Huddersfield - we are down - in theory if Wolves dont win and Palace thrash Peterborough by 7 goals more than we lose to Huddersfield, we can survive but I think we can discount that. Draw is the interesting one especially if Millwall get well beaten on Tuesday As it stands if we draw we go down unless one of the following happens Peterborough lose Millwall lose both remaining games by a total of 4 goals The Fowls lose by 4 goals Sides who can still go down are Huddersfield Millwall Wednesday Peterborough us and Wolves - though Wolves are realistically gone by the way the worst possible score for us in the Peterboro fowls game yesterday was a 1 goal Peterborough win - well done our friends in S6 If I missed anything let me know - though I will be thinking this through again and again and again over the next week
we will be drawing 0 0 at half time and both teams go into the dressing rooms that p'boro are 5 0 down and have had 2 men sent off, the 2nd half consists of 1 kick off and an impromptu game of musical statues
I think the Fowls genuinely thought they were safe and all of a sudden they are back up to their necks in it. We have to win but I just can't help but think Millwall deserve to go and I hope they do.
Well mathematically they can but in practice its not a realsitic scenarion- Wolves cant catch them and they already have a better goal diff than Huddersfield so if we beat Huddersfield they are still ahead of Huddersfield on goal difference unless they lose by 14 goals more than Huddersfield do they cant finish below them. If we dont be beat Huddersfield Blackburn finish above us and Wolves
We draw, Posh lose, it doesnt matter what Wolves do, we would be 1 point clear.........Win and nothing else matters.
The miles rolled by last night Dave, while the cogs were grinding out those possible outcomes. I must admit your brain is far better suited than mine. I've had the league table frozen on my TV all morning. We have to move up the league by at least one place is the sum of my expert analysis.
