Steve Maclean.... loan from plymouth. Proven goalscorer in Championship not currently getting a game. I'm sured he'd love to score against his old club in the derby match vs the owls. Adi Akinbye.... loan from Burnley, we were linked with him pre-season (i wasn't keen then). But thinking about it, perhaps he could be the mobile target man we are lacking. Also proven goalscorer at this level. Shefki Kuqi..... loan from Palace, big mobile target man who can score goals... and another x-owl who would no doubt love to score against them in derby. Sherrjill McDonald..... loan from WBA, hot young prospect who scored goals for fun when on loan at Hereford last season (scoring 6 in 7 appearances). I'd also take a look at Colchester pair Clive Platt and Mark Yeates. Platt is big targetman standing 6ft 4" and Yeates is promising young midfielder/winger.... Any thoughts.....
Yeates is class Would love him on the left wing, to JCR did rather well there yesterday! I wouldn't call Kuqi mobile though, and he scored for Palace yesterday so doubt he'll be going any time soon.
Isn't Kuqi transfer listed? Andrew Surman Mackail Smith Nyatanga They'd be my 3 top targets. All gettable, admittedly Smith would be pricey, maybe £1m, but lets invest.
Surman has 3 goals this season I know soton are skint but I think we'd have a struggle to get him here.
Good shout... Mark Yeates is an excellent player, and far too good for League one. He has a cracking left foot and would be a more than adequate replacement for Howard. Would be a great signing. Sherjill MacDonald - again, from what I've seen of him, he's a quick, strong marksman with an eye for goal. He banged in 6/7 for Hereford last season and has Champions League experience. Would be another good signing.
The young lad at Newcastle, 6 foot 7 inch striker, meant to be very good. Forgot his name, would guess at Carrall though.
i like the look of a couple of them, mcclean in particular. but would they all be YES men and fit into daveys yes sir no sir routine? if they ever questioned him, they would have to leave the club wouldnt they.
David Carrott plays for a team in Ireland, scoring for fun this season. Apparentlly Blackburn are interested in him.
I would go for MacLean as posted earlier today. http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=122317&mid=808814#M808814
