where can i find info of how many pages a printer prints per cartridge. At moment Ive got a Lexmark and its costing me an arm and leg in ink, so I,m considering buying another, Cheers
i've got an hp all in one printer which takes 6 cartridges, 5 colours and 1 black - now you might think this would be much more expensive but i've spent a lot less on cartridges since buying it and have probably printed more. The good thing is when one colour goes you aren't replacing the entire colour cartridge as with many printers. I would also imagine that the new printers are a little more efficient, also don't just go for the official cartridges from the printer manufacturers, buy the recycled ones which are just as good. if u aren't too bothered about colour printing then laser printers are amazingly cheap now and going on the one i use at work they produce 1000s of pages per cartridge (which are on average about £70 to replace)
All printers cost 'an arm and a leg' to upkeep. cant see how they can't make printers with easily filled ink tanks and cheaper ink. The best printers are the ones with good compatible cartridges, like Canon or Epson, not HP or Lexmark. Laser printers are reasonable costed now (Kyocera, Epsom laser) but although the buy price is reasonable the upkeep costs more than an arm and leg in drums, toners, transfer belts, etc etc.
