How much have Palace paid for Flinders? Not 'potentially', cos 'potentially' I'm a multi-millionaire. All I need is a lot more money than I currently have. All those people judging Sam Togwell on one game in the league below and saying he's a good signing - am I allowed to use the same 'one game' criteria if he has a stinker when he plays for us? I haven't been updated on the new 'how to judge a player' rules. Any pointers highly appreciated.
All players are fantastic who sign for us Until they don't score a hattrick on their debuts, then we need to shout abuse at them and try and force them out of the club. You never know, they might rise above it and become world beaters, or just stay ****.
RE: All players are fantastic who sign for us They've been changed, then. I must have an old copy. "Players who join from the league below obviously won't be able to make the grade, so they're sh*t." "Players who join from the same league are obviously cast offs, otherwise they'd be in the first team, so they're sh*t." "Players who join from the Premier are usually great, even if they are more brittle than balsa wood that's been stood in liquid nitrogen for an hour." I need to download the update.

They have paid an 'undisclosed fee' which folk are wildly speculating about or guestimating. Make something up that best represents your side of the arguament (for or against the sale) and then get in there with Young Nudger.
My basis for judgement of Togwell is Wherever he's gone on loan, they've played him - Oxford and Northampton were short loans. He played 26 games in 6 months for Vale, so they must have thought he was worth a place. Granted it's a league lower than we'll be playing, but I'm assuming not good enough for Palace (top end of Championship) good enough for Vale (middle of League One). On that basis I'm willing to believe there's a decent chance he'll cut it somewhere in between (bottom end of the Championship)
We don't know how much we got for Flinders, simple as that. That's the number one reason why I can't give my opinion on whether I think it was good business or not. As far as Sam Togwell goes, I've seen him play twice, but I wasn't aware of it at the time and I remember f-all about it, so again I can't comment. The only thing I will say is that like the majority of the squad he has little or no experience playing in the championship, which worries me a little.
