Glad to see a little pragmatism creeping into the board following the hysteria of last week. I read the Times on Saturday and the enormity of our task to stay up was really brought home. We also had over a 60% chance of going down, again the closest to us was Forest who had a less than 30% chance in going down. Also remember the bookies had us favourites to go down. That is the outside World's expectations of Barnsley. I'd love not to be involved in a relegation battle but let's face it we are going to be no matter who the manager is. And if we stay up then it will be a miracle. Mind you we had a 0% chance of beating Liverpool according to the same stats so miracles can happen.
So the promoted teams stats were based on the last two season where they finished in and around the top six but ours were based on finishing 20th and 18th? What does that really prove?
also davey has been in charge for two years so those stats are saying that he has performed the worst out of the teams i nthe championship. basically the stats are rubbish and prove nothing
Cannot Agree You said that no matter if a new manager came in it would not make a difference. It most certainly would with reflection on our performance on Saturday we were disjointed, lacking confidence and motivation, a new manager woud certainly shake things up starting a new regime. Saturday merely prolonged the inevitable for another 3 games or so, unfortunately there may not be a good manager around then.
