For anyone who hasn't heard this, I thoroughly recommended buying 'Grace' by Jeff Buckley (1994). It regularly turns up in those 'top 50 albums of all time' type-things, and you can tell how much it influenced Radiohead, for example. Quite brilliant.

I hadn't realised that, no. I'm completely new to his work so have just been listening to this album over and over - it ranks among the very best music I've ever heard. I may look into the tribute album but I think I'll check out if I kind get hold of any more of his CDs first.
He was a big believer in using the human voice to create a surreal resonating atmosphere. Check out You & I. I also like Corpus Christi. Played You & I, Hallelujah and Corpus Christi about a million times now.
He only finished the one studio album unfortunately. You can check out "Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk" which was due to be his second. "Live at Sine" is a very good album which gives a good glimpse of what he was like in a small live environment.
His acoustic version of Bob Dylans " Farewell Angelina" is noted for being better than the original.He turns out some seriousley good music
There was an excellant BBC 4 documentary last year about Jeff. Worth trying to find a copy. Plus there is a whistle test clip of Tim Buckley (Jeffs dad) doing Dolphins which is awesome. I also love Song For The Siren. Two very tragic deaths and two talents which show what a bad six form poet and waste of space that Doherty is.
