We also signed Norman Dean, Les Lea and Frank Sharp from the Bluebirds. Dean suffered a sickening leg break at Donny Rovers.

    Certainly do

He was a Barnsley lad, scored against us for Cardiff at Oakwell in a 3-2 defeat, I think Larry May scored an og as well. He was a quick winger/midfielder and scored lots of goals including penalties which he smashed into the centre of the goal. Not a particularly good header of the ball not being particularly tall, despite which he scored a hat-trick of headers against Oxford.

One of my main early memories of a match

Is being sat (yes we were right posh and sat) in front of an attractive young lady who shouted (more screached) into my ear "Go on Gordy" whenever he got the ball.

Remember thinking at the time she was probably his girlfriend (and if she wasn't she wanted to be) cos she only seemed to be there to cheer him on.

His lad sits in the Ponty

He's about 13 years old. He was talking about his dad saying he used to play for the Reds, that he's now manager of A1 Ace taxis (?) and that he plays off scratch (golf)
