I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm thinking of signing up to Virgin 30mb broadband service (I'm in a fibre optic area - whatever that means).

Sky have offered me their 20mb service with average speeds between 9 and 15mb.

If performance is the main factor, whichb would you go for as Sky is a shorter contract and slightly cheaper?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike Lowry.

I don't doubt that but will Virgin be any better. Also, does anyone know what the average speed is for the Virgin connection in Town because they didn't seem to know when I asked them (which struck me as suspicious).

When we lived in Barnsley we had Virgin, my brother had Sky and got rid of it as soon as he could, he changed to Virgin too.
I have heard some bad stuff about Virgin this last month or two though, seems that they are having problems with the new routers.
