well done to all the team involved last night, didn't go but it sounds as though they battled hard. especially well done to scott. i think that the keeper is pretty much the most important position to fill - if you've got a good keeper he can win you plenty of points single handedly over a season and make the difference. well done aswell to nick colgan, its good to have competition for every place.

for the first time in a long time im feeling optimistic - devaney sounds like a decent player and we have still got kell and howard to come back who both sond like good players also. for me ritchie has made some good signings so far, comes across open and honest in the media and is well liked by the players. don't want to get carried away but some of the pessimism on this board belies belief. OK vaughan and carbon are not in my opinion or many others the ideal centre backs but to be fair the defence has conceded few this season and what sort of a message does it give out to drop players who are seen to be doing their job? I think he made a mistake at colchester and he knows it by going too defensive after being unlucky not to beat scunny.

Lets hope from here we can get a bit of confidence going and build on this performance. Preston are a very good team who wanted to win last night to get back on track themselves. If we can get players playing with confidence and nardiello starts to show up then it could be the start of a decent season. Starting on saturday..

    you reds!
