Andy Ritchie has accused the Barnsley board of letting him down after he was sacked on Tuesday. The former Oldham striker was axed on Tuesday with Barnsley languishing second from bottom of the table. Barnsley claimed Ritchie's lack of ambition and failure to sufficiently strengthen the squad left them with no choice but to find a new manager. Ritchie has hit back at the claims and has said the club have let him down. "All I can say at this stage is that I am very disappointed and I feel very let down by the club," Ritchie told the Yorkshire Post. The attention now turns to who might succeed Ritchie at Oakwell with Gary Megson, Kevin Blackwell and Stuart McCall the early contenders for the role.
