Talented youth coming through the ranks. Nice hard tackles coming in.

Is he a mate of yours Ross?

It doesn't look as though he is going to be pulling out of many tackles does it?

Looked superb to me...

A real positive out of tonight's game. Let's hope AR doesn't send him out on loan - i think he's ready now.....

Early days for such a judgement

But he certainly looked determined tonight.
I wouldn't like to see him leave on a long-term loan, especially as we're lacking cover at the back. I'd still like to see an experienced head in that backline myself but there's no denying tonights showing from Atkinson was encouraging.

Agreed, someone with perhaps Carbon's experience but who can manage 50 games + a season. I think Atkinson has some kind of roll to play this season though - should be good.

I'd like to see Robbie Williams given more chance to "entertain us" :pff
I can't remember him letting us down, seems to win more than his fair share of headers for a smallish bloke. Only thing is it would mean having to drop skunkhead which I'm sure we could live with.
Ps, I've nowt against Hecky, I'm not related to Robbie either.

No way..

The championship wingers could walk past Williams. Heckingbottom isnt that much quicker but at least he can defend.

I think Heckingbottom is far superior, Williams is okay going forward but hes a defensive liability.

In the two friendlies so far he's been used in left midfield as backup for McIndoe, and hasn't looked out of place.

I think he'll be useful in that role, and with McParland on the other side it means we can keep two wingers on the field for 90 minutes.
