i need to convert a date into roman numerals the date is 11th september 2000 anyone help me at all? thanks
That's what I'd go for Just did a quick google search to see if I was right but it started banging on about Georgian and Julian calendars, so I left it at that!
well i get XI (11 x = 10 + the 1 makes 11) IX (X = 10 - 1 = ) M = 1000 so MM is 2000 but someone has just said the date converted is MMDCCLIII its for a tattoo so has to be right
I think it depends on what exactly you're wanting to say. The one I put above is the full date and year in roman numerals as it would have appeared in latin (i believe) it means (apparently) "The 3rd day before the Ides of September in the year 2753 from the foundation of the City of Rome" or in the christian calender "A.D. III ID. SEPT. ANNO MM p.Chr. n" which is "The 3rd day before the Ides of September in the year 2000 after the birth of Christ" You could simplify it to just XI IX MM but it just doesn't look right to me.
