To be fair after the Euros a manager with a modicum of tactical nous can take England to the very latter stages of a tournament and I like the fella just hope the ego driven players perform for him Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Don't we know that international teams can't fight off relegation or get promoted from the Championship. Dull appointment.
I'd have a fully fit in form Carrol in the squad good player in my opinion Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Much, much better than Kane on the basis of his Euro's performance. Although I suppose it's not really fair to criticise Kane alone, as they were all dire.
Agree about carroll. If the opposition has midget defenders then bring him on. And a couple of good crossers
I suggested either Sam or Warnock. First time I've ever got an England manager I suggested. You Reds.
He's certainly got the 'Mike Bassett' feeling about him....top and bottom we've tried your smart suit wearing mild mannered managers and got ****ing no where....it's to to shake it up and let someone rip into the players when they deserve it!!! I certainly didn't see the appointment but he can't do any worse!!!
Whoever got the job will undoubtedly feel the scrutiny of not only the press but us know it all supporters too poor bloke perhaps a woman ought to be given a chance seems to be all the rage of late Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
I think Sam is what's needed at the minute. Won't let the press pick the team / squad. Will get players playing in their best positions Will bring a few players down to earth & working hard in an England shirt.
The FA dinosaurs outdo themselves, again Didn't give Harry the job cos of his alleged extra curricular income but choose Big Sam. Tabloids will be ecstatic.
Me too. On form he's unplayable and there's noone else like him these days at the very top level of football. Also offers you a very strong B or C plan. Sam, I like him, he's a very stereotypical british manager and as someone else said, very much feels like Mike Bassett has been appointed. I could actually envisage the 4-4 ****ing 2 speech coming from his mouth. But is that what we need? Not in my opinion. What we need is a young, vibrant and talented manager who will bring in a better tactical way of setting us up. Pochettino would have been my absolute clear choice with his knowledge of our football, the amount of our youngsters he's worked with and his high tempo, attacking style of play. But its the FA afterall and I'm just glad they've steered clear of LVG and playing Harry Kane as a LWB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Andy Carroll is a top player if only he could stay injury free. He should have gone to the Euros and was exactly what we needed. We need to stick to what we are good at, not try and emulate Spain circa 2000. That is high tempo football with a pressing game. Allardyce is a good manager and I doubt that he will play hit and hope. He will spoil games but don't we need to do that sometimes?
Not sure Pochettino would be encouraged away from Spurs. Only other young candidate is Howe. Tactically Sam is one of the most advanced managers in the top flight, hence his success turning round under performing teams. He was one of the first adopters of Prozone for example. I'm interested to see how he gets on in the new role. I think he might surprise a few people.
