It looks like we will be starting the new season as under cooked as last year, if the pre season fixture that have been announced are anything to go by. I would have thought that after last seasons shocking start to the season we would have upped the pre season work played some tougher teams and been ready for the big kick off. Instead we will play a few low quality friendlies look unfit at the start of the season and pick up our first win somtime in September.
Hungarian Second Division and part owned by Sheffield United. Not the quality we need same as chengdu blades
Totally different class to the "Chengdu Blades" Maybe you should arrange all of our pre season fixtures in the future then?
A pre season tour of main land europe, with possible entry in a small tournament in Holland or perhaps Germany. Home friendlies with Wolves (Mick McCarthy) Bolton and Stoke.
But who would you want to play in the small tournaments? We've only just played Wolves, so I don't think it'd be much that of a test. People seem to think we can attract Man City, Celtic, etc. but I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry. Personally, I think a few games against some SPL teams i.e. Hearts, Motherwell, etc. would be a good test.
We tried playing Wigan last year They absolutely ****** all over us in probably the most one sided game I've ever seen.
Haven't we tried playing them over the past 2 or 3 seasons? Granted last year definitely didn't go so well.
RE: We tried playing Wigan last year We have played Wigan on a number of occasions, yes this year we had a bad first half against them. But surely we will learn more by playing teams like Wigan than playing Buxton.
I think we should play Man Utd, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Santos, River Plate, Boca Juniors and a couple of exhibition matches against Brazil and Spain. Come on Davey you toss-pot get us playing this lot or I'm going to send them pictures to the chronicle.
When Danny took us to the Prem. weren't our pre-season fixtures against such notable teams such as Tiverton, Bideford and the like???
