Can anyone else see that Davey will now be tempted to play Anderson, Howard and Colace all together on a regular basis, making a 5 man midfield with JCR and Devaney/Hume on the wings and leaving only one up front?
It's not a bad system Chelsea have used it to great effect over the past few seasons. And we've got the talent in midfield to make it work if Davey drills them correctly. The only trouble is you need an athletic striker with a bit of skill who makes good runs and knows where the back of the net is and we haven't got anyone remotely close to that description in the squad.
It also needs the midfield to stream forwards So we played the second half with one forward - who isnt exactly Drogba and the only 2 allowed to go up and support him were JCR or Hume and even then only one at a time. We could have played Drogba up front today and he would have looked useless with no one to pass to Same when Hume or JCR did run down the wing and had exactly one well marked centre forward to aim at. Even our chance we had only one player forwards
