It's the silence that is really doing it for me, I feel totally disconnected. I dont trust them they will flog anyone for poor amounts and I think they are just rich investors trying to get a little richer without the clubs interests at heart.
English Football needs the 50+1 model that operates in Germany. It's time for the fans - the people who follow the team year after year to take control of the game here in England. In Germany the fans believe their Club is a community asset. Here in Barnsley we're part of the way there. It's interesting that our owners don't appear to have made a move to secure the total ownership of the stadium a hefty slice of which is owned by the local authority. The problem the English game has is we're probably too far removed from that model and it's significant that there are moves afoot to overturn the 50+1 rule in Germany.
who were worse? Genuine question. We have had some poorer individual performances under Johnson and Wilson during that time but this is the weakest team I’ve seen since the Spackman team and I’m not sure that at the moment the current team is any better.
Altrincham 1-0 Barnsley, sandwiched by eight League One defeats in a row under Tyrion Fvcking Lannister. That period was worse than anything I've ever seen. loved until we'd holes in us by giants of football like Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe and Fleetwood.
I believe the posters are referring to the stewardship of the Club, not the team. I’ve 48 years following them and I have to agree with them.
Steve Houghton was sat behind the goal yesterday. I couldn’t get to speak to him. If I had, I would have urged him in the strongest possible terms to never sell BMBCs part ownership to this bunch of Charlatans.
we had better players then but for that period we were worse I would agree. The season ended on a high so over the course of the season you’d have to say we were pretty good. I don’t see a happy ending this time do you?
Just to clarify, I'm talking about the relationship between the club and the fans, not about the on the field performances. I support the lads on the field unreservedly, none of this is their fault.
The Spackman team was poor, but better than this one. Spackman is the worst manager we have had since 1974 in my opinion. I expect us to get a lot less points than they returned though. I'd be surprised if we get 30 this season & that is being optimistic.
I’d be surprised if we got many more than Rotherham the other year unless something very random happens.
These are just young lads not ready for this league, they have been bought in the hope they return a profit for the owners. In the best window ever they prioritised future profit instead of championship survival.
We’ve split that role though haven’t we? I always thought GG was there to head scouting and recruitment and mouth piece of the club. Operational running of the club was Rob Zuk’s remit. I assume thats still the case
In that case, what is Rob Zuk doing?? Let's face it, no-one from the club is saying anything to anyone.
It's certainly not improving things off the pitch. The only improvements done in the last couple of years has been by volunteers
Well that makes sense, job title doesn't though. If what you're saying is correct it sounds like Rob Zuk is CEO and Dane Murphy head of recruitment. Which would beg the question why we got Dane Murphy in his Jackanory pose telling us the silence is deafening (while continuing to deafen us with it). Why wasn't that Rob?
