RE: Good point regarding the arguement over have we improved or not, are we better is a flawed one anyways as we will never know what would have happened with AR stll in charge so fair comparisons cannot be made. You have to remember we went up under AR and when he left the task for SD was to stay up, the same this season which for me despite been higher league the criteria is easier as expectations are not as high. So is SD capable of taking us to the next level, what do we expect? In some areas we have improved in others we have not. For every good signing I think there are a few stinkers as well but not every player will be a success and we are much more financially stable this year which has allowed us to loosen the budget to get players like da silva, macken etc. Interestingly AR went for Foster but missed out on him and I honestly believe AR was not backed as well in the market as SD has been but AR did not help himself and seemed to accept it. At times tatics are much more questionable under SD, Williams centre mid, Togwell on the wing, Hassell in centre mid instead of a natural midfielder? Next season I would hope for an improvement both on and off the field we need to progress after 2 years of stability but overall I would say SD has done well, I'm not expecting to make huge leaps and bounds but to be at least comfortably mid table with relegation fears dispelled much sooner!
i think he would be struggling as Howard ws signed a year before Mcindoe when Ar first sign and was the one who scouted him whilst under PH. As for McIndoe he was offered to the club as he wanted out of Donny, GS put this to AR who agreed to the deal.
RE: I heard that that wasnt Ritchies doing Or was it true that the Chairman wasnt going to release enough funds for Ritchie to improve the squad? id heard he said that he couldnt bring in better on the budget he was given. Correct me if im wrong but when Davey took over he brought in McCann Mattis and Ferenczi. None of which have done a great deal Also loaners Leon Knight, Wallwork, Reid, Eckersley, Racjzi, Jones and Nyatanga. Barring Nyatanga none of those stayed or were particularly impressive Based on that i dont think the squad improved massively based on Daveys early signings so im inclined to believe Ritchie was given a rough deal and not enough time.
RE: I heard that that wasnt Ritchies doing On the 24th October Shep said "He can have a two or three year deal its up to him" by the 21st November he was sacked. 28 days to turn sour that was worse than Leeds with Clough and Stein. Think the radio sheff interview about doubting us getting in Prem again did for him not the signing of players.
RE: Good point regarding I am guessing you only turned up 15 minutes into the 2nd half then.
As up to then the game was utter ****.

The Bristol City match was absolute cack except for 25 mins, during which time we were very good indeed, but the rest of the match was shocking.
richards great in the air? in the championship i can only remember one header - against colchester from 2 yards. you're talking rubbish. davey has brought in some great players.
