I'll bite...

The suggestion is that all the 'moaning' fans are going to come back on here being happy all of a sudden, being happy, supporting Davey, because we got three points.

Well, the misery that we have all experienced of late in watching the decline of the club is totally justified. Just because people have criticisedthe manager and board, it doesn't mean they can't celebrate a win.A lot of the issues that have been raised over the past days and weeks on here have not been remedied just because we got a vitalthree points. I certainlyhope that we stay up -but if we do it does not mean that Shepherd and his boardcango on treating the fans the way they have done over the course of this season, and the level of professionalisminvolved in marketing and running the club still has to improve no end. There are two issues forwhich thefans have shown considerable unhappiness - oneis what is happening on the pitch, theother is what is happening off the pitch. I'm delighted to seeus take three points and show some improvement on the field of play, and I'm delighted to see the family day promotion that has been scheduled by the club -both steps in the rightdirection. Let'shope the improvements don'tstop there, becauseif they do the sword will still be hanging over the club.I love Barnsley F.C. and I always will, but for the record, I'm still a long way from being won over by this administration - there's a long way to go.

I'll celebrate this win and go tobed happier for it - doesn't makeme a hypocrit.

Am I not allowed to criticise when I don't like what I see ?

Am I not allowed to praise when I like what I see ? Do I not have freedom of speech ?
It is possible we may have differing views on a great many aspects . I believe it is only right and proper that you have the right to voice those differences . Those same rights apply to me .
I will not apologise for airing my views on Barnsley Football Club . Other than SiteAdmin , I am answerable to no one on this board .

its endemic of this board to criticise everyone from the chairman to the club cat when we lose, then heap on the praise when we win.....

I think the point the original poster was trying to make was that if we had lost there would have been calls for sack the board, sack the manager etc, however 3 points and its "yoooooo reds".

Fickle yes we are and I count myself in that bracket too, I still have to be convinced we have appointed the right man for the job but irrespective I will be there next home match and so will you mate.

We-the supporter- can have a big say in whether we stay up or go down.Get behind the lads.Lift em.Cheer em. Make them feel 10 feet tall. Make them feel they can thro' a brick wall.Boo them and they will start hiding.

Its like the old saying 'I have the right to call my family names' but I will not allow anybody else to 'call them' Marvellous how loyalty sometimes makes you blind.

    Yeah , that's true mate

I've been going down since 1968 ( had a season ticket since 1969 ) and have lost count of the times I've said "never again" in a fit of pique !!
My criticism of the players in the past couple of months still stands . But as I said earlier , if I'm man enough to criticise when things aren't going well , I must also be man enough to heap praise on them when they get things right .

Who said anything about booing the players?

Every true fan has the entitlement to criticise the board. Certainly under these circumstances.

Agreed on both counts, I cant claim to have been going as long as you (I was born the year you had your first season ticket).

We may all whinge, moan, criticise thats just us. One thing is for sure, we all want to maintain Championship status.

If Simon Davey achieves that then great, however as I said previously I still do not believe him to be the right man for the job, but time will tell.
