...always been fascinated by this concept, but do we think it's plausible that anyone can be connected to anyone in six steps? Or is it just some phrase that seems to fit nice with "six" that someone has dreamt up. And how ambiguous would each step have to be? I'd have thought it would have to be a friend of a friend of a friend etc scenario but I can't see how that would connect you to someone on the other side of Barnsley never mind the other side of the world. Lerruz know folks.
Dunno, it does seem implausible to be linked with anyone on the planet in 6 steps doesn't it? So if you break it down logically, let's say that everyone knows (or has known) about 1, 000 people, who also know (or have known) about 1, 000 people. So that's 1, 000, 000 people in two steps. You could go on. However, it breaks down because some people will be known by the same person (family members etc). As for the other side of the world, I know a plumber who's son now lives in Singapore. I work with people from Africa, China, America, India. So in two steps I'm all over thre world.
I've got 2 ********, as had Gary Ablett. Piece of piss this, dunt need 6. But actually: Gary Ablett was at Liverpool at the same time as: Mark Lawrenson. Who has been a motd pundit with: Robbie Savage. Who was a guest on Celebrity Juice hosted by: Leigh Francis. Who is related to: My bird. Who occasionally gets scuttled by: Mansfield_red
Yeah I suppose if you break it down like that it does widen it a bit, there was a period in my working life where I was in regular contact with people in Israel and Hong Kong and on my dad's side my family are from Oregon but even if everyone was like this it would surely take a very tenuous set of links to associate to someone else in 100 steps never mind six.
