Particularly impressed with the Olympic style opening ceremony with giant flag and fireworks.

Thought the pitch looked in great condition as well.

Innovative and exciting half-time competition slightly spoiled by the fact that the lad did really well and probably won't get his time beaten all season (does anyone know what the "bonus" would have been for scoring with the last kick and what the point of that was?).

New music worried me cos the speaker near us could not cope with it. Need to get back to cocoon quickly as it is light and the speakers cope well with it.

Gutted that Toby wasn't there - the place seemed empty.

Above all, it was the familiarity of the "supporters'"comments that made me realise just what I miss during the break.e.g. The guy near us who spent the last five minutes before kick-off berating fans around him to "GET BEHIND THE LADS" and the next 90 minutes hurling abuse everytime a Barnsley player got the ball! The guy just in front with two young kids either side of him who booed and uttered expletives for five minutes when KO came on. Lovely stuff.

Enjoyed the match as well. Can't win em all.

The speaker system is shocking. God help if we have an emergency because doubt anyone would hear it.

I really really tried to hear the half times yesterday but could only make out the odd team or number god only knows what it would be like in an emergency if they had to try and actually get your attention

Nice post, i enjoyed the game too despite the result. Was good to be back except for

like you say, the moronic, braindead, thick as fook excuses that make up a seemingly large percentage of our supporters these days.

I felt physically sick and dismayed by the negative attitude felt amongst the East Stand lower and then leaving the ground. The old guy near me kept saying Darren Moore is too slow, well screw me sideways great observation, did he put a foot wrong all game, did he *****. Thats what you have to put up with week in week out. Certain people turned up at the game yesterday waiting for it to go wrong, almost satisfaction crept across their ugly mugs as Cov went 2-1 up.

Question for you? If its that bad, if the manager is that poor, if the players are rubbish WHY BOTHER FOOKIN COMING?? Save you money, go to pictures, go to Meadowhall, go anywhere, but don't come to Oakwell please!

And before the idiots on here start with the "i pay my money i can have my say" go do it at home or in your local after match, don't come and do it from minute 1 and try and impress your sad ******* mates who for some reason beyond me actually agree with you.

We won't put out our best 11 till at least early October, then we will need a few games to click again. This division is that tight if we were nowhere at x-mas i still wouldn't be concerned, the squad is stronger than last season, there is some bloody talented players there that are more than good enough to punch above their weight against sides with a hell of a lot more financial clout than us. It might take us 5 years back up before we finish top 12, so what, i'll be there sat in same seat i've had for 14 years waiting, co z we are slowly but surely heading in the right direction.

So if you go to your local Fish Shop

and they start to serve up cold chips and half cooked fish. Do you keep going because its 'your local shop and you bought fish and chips there for 14 years'

I believe in supporting the team in good and bad times but when the bad times are due to bad management and not hard luck I take exception.

RE: So if you go to your local Fish Shop

Supporting a football club is in the blood; going to a particular fish and chip shop isn't. Supporting a football club matters deeply and sparks strong emotions; going to a particular fish and chip shop doesn't! Do I need to carry on??? BFC is your football club not Simon Davey's, Don Rowing's or Kayode Odejayi's. It is bigger than any of the personnel currently working there and hopefully will be there long after they depart. None of them should have a bearing on whether you continue to support the club.

And if every one was like you, in five years time, they would still be serving up the same rubbish because there wouldn't be any need for them not to. The one difference would be that by then, it would probably be Conference rubbish, not Championship rubbish but hey, who cares, it would be our rubbish wouldn't it.

Let's all not bother going then. Well what's the point if we're already doomed??

No all i am saying is that yeah we all have our opinions and i admit that i am not happy with what Davey has done in the league and his tactics etc baffle us. All im saying is don't transfer all this animosity and negativity to the team as that will cause more damage than good

I don't see how it can!

The players are PAID to play football and entertain US. We PAY for the privilege of sitting in an uncomfortable seat and all we want is some commitment and entertainment from those that are paid many times the wage of the average supporter, if they are not up to the job, then we should not have to just like it or lump it. How do the fans get their point across, if they boo, then they are castigated , if they have their say on an internet site, they are abused. (dunno) (dunno)
